U.M. ARMY makes a difference in Goliad:
Sixty-two high school students and sponsors from La Grange, Westlake, Victoria, and Austin volunteered with UM ARMY
(United Methodist Action Reach-Out Mission By Youth) and teamed up to work on 20 projects here in Goliad the week of June 27-July 3.
This nation-wide organization, founded 27 years ago, helps improve living conditions for families in need while building youth leaders.
Youth volunteers spent their time fixing floors, ramps, porches, and siding.
They also repaired screens and did a good deal of painting.
Hosted by First United Methodist Church-Goliad and housed at First Baptist Church-Goliad, the City of Goliad and the Goliad City Council declared the week “UM ARMY Recognition and Appreciation Week” to acknowledge their efforts.
